List of documents required for customs control when entering/leaving Russian Federation.

1.For Russian citizens

  • 2 copies of Passenger Customs Declaration filled in for vehicle (please see the sample attached). While passing the customs control at the Russian border one copy to be left with customs officer, the second one is to be saved until returning to Russia. When returning into Russian Federation two more Passenger Customs Declaration are to be filled in. All the declarations (the new ones and the one, saved from the departure from Russia) are to be presented to the Customs officer.

  • 2 copies of Passenger Customs Declaration filled in for luggage (in case if passenger carrying items obligatory for written declaring as per Russian Legislation). Information on the luggage is required only (no information on vehicle is required). While passing the customs control at the Russian border for departure one copy to be left with customs officer, the second one is to be saved until returning to Russia. On arrival to Russian Federation two more Passenger Customs Declaration are to be prepared, they can be obtained at the customs. All the declarations (the new ones and the one, saved from the arrival to Russia) are to be presented to the Customs officer.

  • IF VEHICLE IS REGISTRED ON A COMPANY, IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE EITHER COPY Of LETTER OR ATORNEY FOR DRIVING THE CAR OR WAYBILL, WHERE DRIVERS AND OWNERS ORGANISATIONS INFORMATION IS INDICATED.

  • IF VEHICLE IS REGISTRED ON A PHYSICAL PERSON WHO IS NOT A DRIVER, COPY OF NOTARIZED LETTER OF ATTORNEY IS REQUIRED.

In order to fasten the queue on the border preparing documents listed below in advance might be helpful:

  1. Copy of passport page with personal information
  2. Copy of visa
  3. Copy of technical inspection card

2.For foreigners:

2.1. For car drives:

  • 2 copies of Passenger Customs Declaration filled in for vehicle. Only information on car is required. While passing the customs control at the Russian border one copy to be left with customs officer, the second one is to be saved until leaving Russia. On leaving Russia two more Passenger Customs Declaration are to be prepared, they can be obtained at the customs. All the declarations (the new ones and the one, saved from the arrival to Russia) are to be presented to the Customs officer.

IF VEHICLE IS REGISTRED ON A PHYSICAL PERSON WHO IS NOT A DRIVER, COPY OF LETTER OF ATTORNEY IS A MUST.

2.2 For tourist bus drivers:

  • 2 copies of special Declaration for a vehicle are to be filled in. As the forms must be in Russian Language the example of Declaration of a vehicle is translated into English for your convince. While passing the customs control for entering Russia one copy is left with the Customs officer, another one to be saved until leaving Russia. When leaving Russia the Declaration for a vehicle is presented to the Customs officer.
